bilengual ; japanese + english text.

Features more then 110  100% pure vegetarian/vegan restaurants in Japan's mayor cities, from Sapporo in the north, Sendai, TOKYO, Nagoya, KYOTO, OSAKA, all the way to tropical Okinawa.

Each restaurant has one page with text and detailed restaurant information, public transport information, detailed menu and ingredient information, photo's, and a clear map designed to lead you from the nearest public transport to the restaurant.
A ranking system which gives a restaurant one or two stars, might help you choose a restaurant.

All restaurants have been personally visited and ingredients have been thoroughly checked, from the obvious fish stock to honey in cookies.

The appendix offers an additional list with detailed information of another 30 veggie restaurants in smaller towns that were not visited, but which have been carefully checked for their ingredients by telephone.

Especially for the non-japanese veggie visitor comes a handy two-page list with japanese sentences and words useful in restaurants and convenience shops, a four-page Survival Guide with tips for getting a veggie meal when there isnt a veggie restaurant, and a list with explanation and photo's of Vegan Convenience Survival Food, including potato chips and sorbet ice !

In August 2010 we have checked ALL RESTAURANTS in the Japan Vegan Restaurant Pocketguide to see if a restaurant is still open or closed. With these new updates your pocketguide will be fully updated.

We didn't check though if the opening hours have changed or not, so if going to a far away restaurant it's wise to check.

What People Say About The Pocketguide...

Dr Mitsuru Kakumoto
president Japan Vegetarian Society
your book is very useful for vegans and vegetarians. It is my pleasure to recommend this book.

Rie (Tokyo)
Greetings !
I just want to say thank you for publising such a brilliant book named Vegan Restaurant Pocket guide , which I got to know about thru my friend, who is a member of PETA
ASIA.

I bought a copy and I already visited 4 restaurants in Tokyo, and I intend to visit all of them hopefully!

Because I try to dine at places in many locations in the book, i started to call my friends who live near the place that I haven't been in touch with for years, so I can not only have a tasty time at a new vege restaurant, but also actually meet with someone i would not have called otherwise!

Your book is amazing.
I will 100% positive about buying a new edition if coming!

Staf & Katja (Belgium)
Just wanted to let you know that youfre book was worth every euro! Ifm sure that without it we would not have found all these restaurants as easily as we did now! Thanks!

first edition of the Vegan Restaurant Pocketguide, 80 pages, 51 shops, black/white, sold out.
